Default How can I tell if my 2010 CC Precedent has speed code 4 or not?

I just got my 2010 CC Precedent. Although I am happy with the speed from day 1 I would still like to make it go a little faster, but the question is where do I start? Probably start with the obvious, the speed magnet since it's only $25.00 and easy to install. Thought about taking it to the dealer and having the speed code 4 done but I'm not sure if it already has it or not. It's got a 3 or 4" all sports lift with 22" tires and goes 19 mph. I did see 20 once but that may have just been on a slight down hill. Is there a way to tell if it has speed code 4 in it already? May even consider the plum quick bandit motor but would like to try the less expensive mods first.

You likely have code 3. Just go ahead and get the bandit and get it over with.

What is up with my typo in the title? Don't know how that happened. I meant speed. Stupid Samsung Swype app.

If your car has been updated to Speed Code 4, there should be a sticker under the dash with three 3 digit codes on it.

I don't see any sticker so I assume it doesn't have it. Assuming it doesn't have it is it worth it paying for the upgrade? Will the speed code 4 work in conjunction with the speed magnet? At some point I would like to upgrade to the Plum Quick Bandit but now that the warm weather is here I don't want the downtime waiting to send my motor in to get the bandit upgrade and then have to wait for it returned. I talked to PQ last week and they don't have any in stock spares to exchange.

beachcarter,

Attached is a photo of the sticker on my car.

A dealer I bought batteries from told me it was on speed code 4, and that was the sticker that showed it.

Hopefully someone else can confirm this is correct and maybe tell us how to read it.

What a dang racket all these speed sensors and factory speed codes are......... It's pretty nice to plug a wire into my controller and set it myself..... and it used to be a resistor cart lol

Are you saying the speed code isn't worth it?
