Default 1990 DS Motor Testing

I have a 1990 Club Car DS that looses power rapidly especially when operating at less that full throttle. Will barely move in reverse also. Batteries are in good condition, as are the cables and all connections are clean. I'm suspecting the motor but would like to test it to be sure. I have done resistance testing on other manufacturers carts, but can find no such test on the net for Club Car. Might there also be an amperage test that can be performed? Anyone have any literature? Have had no luck finding a repair manual for the cart either. Thoughts on this condition appreciated as well.

on stock club cars of your year it is 18v reverse
the 90 club carts will burn off voltage at low speeds ... they love full speed
if you want full speed reverse let us know

I know reverse has always been slower than forward, but everything is deteriorating. For example, I have a tank sprayer that mounts on the back for spraying weeds, insects etc. The thing would barely move at full throttle after doing 1/2 the yard. While last year I could spray my yard, both my neighbors yards, and still run it around for hours after that.

Yes, may. That is why I'm seeking a method for testing the motor. I would feel much better being able to pinpoint the exact failure. Then I can justify throwing out the stock motor and putting in something better!

In the mean time I would be interested in full speed reverse instructions if you don't mind.

Really the only serviceable parts of the motor are the brushes and the lugs (lugs rarely need replaced). I'd say the only way to test it to remove and take to a reputable motor shop...

OK, out with the old, in with the new. Anyone have anything positive or negative to say about replacement options?
