Intermittent Brake lights
My cart came with brake lights, the LED's. I notice that My brake lights seem to work when they want to.
Since I didn't install these lights, I'm not sure exactly how they are hooked up. Is there an adjustment that I need to make, check for a bad switch, etc? Tried a search here but no workie. |

Re: Intermittent Brake lights
Nope, that's not it. I can be riding around and hit the brake pedal and sometimes the brake lights work and sometimes they don't. I can press the pedal different ways and make them come on but they might go back off if I press the pedal a bit harder.

Re: Intermittent Brake lights
No, it's wired in to the pedal under the floor.
I guess I could pull the pedal assembly out and have a look. I just had it out a while back when I replaced the MCOR. |

Re: Intermittent Brake lights
Before pulling the pedal assembly out I would try this:
Pull up the floor mat, and the floor board access panel Try pumping the brake pedal and watch the brake light switch action. I am guessing that you will find the problem is a mechanical issue with the activation of that brake light switch. Post a picture if you can when you get to see the switch action when brake pedal is pushed. Aflyer |

Re: Intermittent Brake lights
I had the floor plate up the other day doing a minor adjustment on the brake pedal. I saw the two sets of wires but I didn't see a switch. There may be one there, but I'm surprised that I don't remember it.
I "Think" the switch is mounted to the pedal assembly which would have to be pulled to get to. I'll get around to it in a day or two and get back. Thanks for the replies. |

Re: Intermittent Brake lights
I am still guessing it is an adjustment.
I installed mine almost two years ago, but I recall a spring and an adjustment to insure when the pedal is depressed it pulls the plunger out of the brake switch to make connection. Aflyer |
