Default 2012 Precedent More speed, esp. up hills

First off, thank you to all the regular contributors for making this a great place for information.

I have a 2012 CC 'Precedent Professional - Electric' serial number PQ1201-254606. I use it to haul the family and our gear around our neighborhood. It's been great for the job but it's hilly in our area, and I'd like a little more speed up hill especially. Aside from a headlight/taillight kit, and a folding rear seat, this cart is stock (including the original batteries). I'm told I have a speed code already, but I don't know the details. What are my options for more speed and torque?

There is so much information on this topic that I'm a little unclear on the right approach. Trying to narrow down my options and make some smart choices. I'd like to approach this one step at a time.

As I see it, these are my options listed in order of effectiveness:

1. Heavier capacity motor controller and wires.

2. Upgraded motor.

3. Battery upgrade.

4. Different/modified speed sensor.

Am I on the right track? If so, I would appreciate recommendations for what parts to buy and where to purchase them.

Thanks again for the support and info.

Peter

If you have a speed code there should be a sticker from a CC dealer right near your serial number.
Your best bet for torque (hill climbing) would be an upgraded controller 400-500 amp, and a motor.

Your batteries are probably getting to the end of their life at 5 years old...especially if you don't know how they were cared for before you purchased the cart.

I would check in to a Alltrax 300 controller, more torque with some more speed without having to do anything else.

Thanks guys. Looking around, it seems like D&D and Plum Q have controller/wire/motor combos available. Should I consider any other providers?

Default Re: 2012 Precedent More speed, esp. up hills-UPDATE; SOLVED.

From D&D, I purchased 4g cables, solenoid, Alltrax 500a controller and a torquier motor. The folks at D&D were very helpful over the phone assisting me with the right selection of parts. I finished up the installation tonight and went out for a quick victory lap. I was very pleased with the results, overall the cart feels much faster and climbs more easily. The installation was rather time consuming, and required some additional small parts not included but in general I'm satisfied. Thanks for all the guidance and a wealth of good info. Peter

According to what I have read elsewhere on the forum they should have recommended 2g cables with a 500A controller (4g OK with 400A).

Otherwise it sounds like a great upgrade.
