Default 2007 Club Car -Best Speed option

I just replaced my batteries, painted my canopy and now I am looking to improve speed. Would I be better off getting a PQ motor or new controller? I have speed code 4 & the speedy link (it increased a few MPH after speed code 4). This is the snapshot from my last run to my golf course.

They're both good options. You'll gain more torque with a controller upgrade and slightly more speed with a motor upgrade. The controller upgrade will give you a speed boost as well, but not quite as much as a PQ Bandit. Is this a DS or a Precedent cart?

It's a precedent. I use it primarily for golf on a course with somewhat minimal elevation changes. Which method is easier? Which method is least expensive? I am learning as I go so I am trying not to bite off more than I can chew.

They're both pretty simple mods. It's all according to what you want. The reason I asked if it was a DS or a Precedent is because the DS tend to have the GE motor in 2007, which is not a good motor for upgrades. You should have the black ADC/AMD motor in your Precedent.

It sounds like the controller is a great place to start. Is there a specific model that you would recommend? Is it just remove the old one and input the new one in its spot?

I recommend the Alltrax XCT. You can use the 300 amp version with no further upgrades, or the 400 amp version with a cable upgrade and solenoid upgrade. They're not a direct replacement for the Curtis controller. Some drilling is required as it has a different footprint. It's pretty straightforward though.

Would that controller be good if I do a PQ later on? How much performance increase will the 300amp give me? Am I shooting myself in the foot not doing the 400 amp with solenoid and new cable?

It all depends on what you want to spend. The 300 is less expensive, obviously. It will get you in the low to mid 20s for speed. The beauty of the Alltrax vs a motor is that you'll get much quicker acceleration and a much more crisp throttle response. The motor will give you a higher top speed, but that's really about all it will provide you. If you could do both, I'd go with the XCT400 and a PQ Bandit. You'd be running around 25-28MPH or so with plenty of torque.
