Default 2009 Electric Precedent what's it worth?

Got a line on a 2009 Precedent w/ 6" lift kit, fancy lookin' wheels and 3 year old batteries. Seller says he'll take $3,000.
Does that sound like a reasonable figure?
It looks good in pics and he says it has been garage kept. I'm in Virginia, btw
Thanks for any input. Going to see it tomorrow

Rear seat?
Price isn't bad, but with 3 year old batteries, you might have some negotiating power...

Price seems reasonable to me. As Kashmir asked, does it have any other upgrades? Back Seat kit and if so, HD rear springs?
Aftermarket Dash, Stereo, Light Kit, etc?

What brand and size batteries? Good batteries can go several more yrs if properly maintained.

I'm in Va as well. The cart, for the money, is very fair. We are fortunate to be near NC and many RV resorts here in Va and carts are a dime a dozen around here. The wheels and lift kit are $750+ including no cost for labor. The rear seat and light kit will add minimum $350-400 for an avid DIY'er. If the batteries are Trojan, interstate, or a top brand, you have 2 years left in them. Be sure to check the state of the charger as well. A new charger will run $250. If none of these modifications mentioned have been done, you have a fancy, lifted 2 seat golf cart that really has no value. Family carts need 4 seats, and heavy duty 2 seat use requires upgraded controller, solenoid, f/r switch and 4 gauge cables. And remember, a cart is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. Ice him for a week and offer $2500. Then you have a good deal!

Thanks for the info
I know there's no rear seat
Lights look stock on photos
How do I know if rear shocks are HD?
What battery brands are "top brands"?

Needing four seats, well if you are a young family maybe. Most older couples don't need four seats. My grandkids don't want a rear seat, they like strapping themselfs in the bag well. Seems like a fair price. Ice him for a week and it may be gone.

If there is no rear seat, the shocks are stock. You ONLY need to upgrade them if upgrading to a rear seat kit. And the need for that is debatable. If you're carrying 150 pounds of kid, not needed. If it's two full sized adults, you should consider it for ride comfort. Lights from the factory are rare on a fleet golf cart from places like golf courses, but not unheard of. If they work then great, bonus. Top batteries are Trojan, interstate, and Duracell. Look near the terminals, there will either be a stamp or a sticker that relates to the manufacture date. Just a quick google will help guide you what the codes mean. Some are as simple as 11/13, while others are like B4. B is the second letter in he alphabet, and 4 is the year. Therefore, you have the SECOND month of the fourth year... Feb 2014. Batteries will never last so long that it could mean 2004. That way you can double check the seller's facts.

Don't get too bogged down in that it's a 2009 either. Carts retain their values like homes. Regardless of the age, if it is well maintained and properly cared for, a 2002 Club Car can be worth just as much as the 2009 you're looking at.

More importantly, what are you going to use it for?

If it has a lift find out if they upgraded the controller or motor also. Top batteries? Crown Trojan interstate. I'm not buying a cart for $3000 just because it has a lift. The inside to me is more import that the looks

Boom goes the dynamite. He is totally correct. A lift kit can kill performance. RustyRMH... rockingham memorial hospital? If you're in Harrisonburg, then you have the same blue ridge hills I cruise. On flat ground like beaches, lift kits look cool and don't sacrifice any performance. In hilly terrain like ours, the torque, which is important for hill climbing, even smaller hills, can be significantly impaired. Just inquire if the kit was all that's been done or if it had electronic modifications as well. Those can be many times more expensive than a lift itself.

Wow, head starting to spin a little from all the good input (or is it the wine?)

How can I tell if the controller, etc has been upgraded?

Cart will mainly be used to tool around neighborhood and down to the river, no heavy duty off road stuff but there is a steep hill to negotiate

The first asking price was $3800 but he tells me his bottom line is $3K

Again thanks to all for the help!
