No Power
I have a 2000 Club Car DS 48 volt, bought it used as is. It has a power problem and barely goes on a flat plane, uphill it stops dead. I put new batteries in and did some troubleshooting on solenoid, but not sure where to go next. There is a second solenoid with a "resistor" on it that glows orange within about 30 seconds after I try to drive it. Any help on where I might go next to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated.

Re: No Power
The solenoid with the resistor Coil is not working. Hook both large cable on same side of that solenoid and you should have full speed.

Re: No Power
That's sounds easy enough to try, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks mrgolf. That did it. Runs like crazy and right up hills with plenty of power.

Re: No Power
You should also unplug the speed sensor 3-pin connector from the motor or you will have a very strong motor brake effect.

Re: No Power
That solenoid could be good and the activation circurit not be working. You might want to check out that part.

Re: No Power
I would start with solenoid that glows! Lol. There is obviously high resistance within the solenoid that indicated damage. Replace and go from there.
