Default More controller questions

I have read a few things about several controllers. The two I am looking at are the alltrax 4844 400a, and the logisystems 480a. The alltrax is programmable and the logisystems is not. I've tried to look at the logisystems website and it is down. Are they still in business? Any suggestions on which is better than the other? I will soon be getting one and installing it in a 94 CC 36v with 6" lift and 22" tires. I don't necessarily need more speed just more torque from stock.

Logisystems site has been down for a loooong time. Seems like years. You can't go wrong with an Alltrax. I'm sure the logisystems is a cheaper unit. The thing that bothers me about logisystems is their website or lack thereof, no web tech support you have to call them. I haven't heard any "bad" about their controllers. The Alltrax will usually be set from the factory to ramp up real fast.....faster than the non-programmable logisystems controller.

Would you be able to tell the difference between 400a and 480a anyway?

Bigger does not always = better.
Someone posted a chart from GE Cart Motors (I think) not to long ago and with
some motors you loose torque and speed with the really big controllers (500-700).

I have looked at a few alltrax controllers and the say for stock carts only, and not to be used on lifted carts. Why is this? I'm looking at getting an alltrax 4844 400a it too says this. I have a lifted cart. Should I be looking for a diferent controller?

What are you looking to put it in and what size are your wheels and tires and ....Is the motor stock & what are you going to use it for? Lets answer these questions first so the techs here can know what we are trying to accomplish All of these things factor into controller selection.

I have a '94 CC v-glide with controller, W/4" lift, 22" tires, and a stock motor.
I will be using the cart mostly off road. I do plan on upgrading the gears and motor at some point also.

See, this is the key point! Your choice of controller now should match this planned upgrade unless you want to buy a new one later? I suggest a 650amp controller ......

From what I've read I thought the real high amp ones were only used on the most radical set-ups? Will a 650a burn up my stock motor? I am on somewhat of a budget. I know the 500-700a controllers can get rather expensive. I just want to be able to do some oderate off-roading. Can you suggest a model or two? I'm real new to this stuff though and any help is appreciated.

94 is a 36 volt cart? Why not just plan on keeping your stock motor and upping the voltage down the road? The stock motor will do well on a 400 amp controller at 48v....to do this in steps find a 36-48 volt 400 amp controller it will give you a little more now and 30% +- more when you upgrade to 48v.....
Just my 2 cents
