Older club car trying to find a charger
I have an older electric club car not sure what year I will post some pics below of the current setup. I'll take more pics tomorrow. I tried an old ez go charger with the correct connector on it but no luck. The charger just gave the 6 red led flashes saying internal charger error. I have charged the batteries individually and the cart drives fine lasted a whole day but obviously it's a pain in the butt to do that each time. Someone converted it to 3 12v batteries not sure if I should just try and use some newer parts and like new controller w new charge port or what. This is my first electric cart always had Gassers before this. Thanks for the help!!

Re: Older club car trying to find a charger
These batteries are made for starting, which means a short discharge of say 50-70 amps and then recharge. Golf Cart long deep discharge use will kill them off pretty quick.
Not sure if the charger can sense the configuration is incorrect? You can try opening up the charger and jumping the relay to get it to charge. But, it will not shut off after that so you will have to monitor it. |

Re: Older club car trying to find a charger
I have a pretty nice Club Car 36 volt charger, but it does not have the Anderson plug. It has the Crow Foot plug, but I also will have the Charging receptacle for sale with it.
I got it with my EV Sport Coupe, and since I am upgrading that car to 48 volts I will be selling this charger. (1973 Club Car Caroche) I am not at home so can't post a picture today, but will do it tomorrow, in case you are interested. Aflyer |

Re: Older club car trying to find a charger
Since your pictures do not show how the charger receptacle is connected to the FNR and batteries, it is hard to tell you if it is wired correctly.
Measure the voltage on the Anderson charger receptacle sockets to make sure You get +36v. |
