Default 12 volt supply for accessories

A month now with my first cart and having a blast. Still learning.
2011 Precedent with Madjax light kit plus ultimate add on (I assume since it has horn, turn signals and flashers). I want to add led underlighting and want to know best place to get 12 volt power. Should I buy a seperate voltage reducer or is there one already installed as part of the kit? Could I just tie into an existing wire? Have heard there may be a factory 12v wire behind dash.
It has the six 8v battery configuration.

You'll need a 48v to 12v reducer. There are many threads on this here and you can obtain a good one from the vendors that participate on the forum.

How are you powering the Madjax light kit now?

Well now hold on, there may or may not be a reducer already present. OP does your cart have 4/12 volt batteries or does it have 6/8 volt batteries?

If it has /412's, chances are the light kit is hooked to one of those. If it has 6/8's, then you more than likely have a reducer already.

Let us know what you've got.

Six 8 volt batteries. Since it was already installed before I bought it I am trying to reverse engineer it and see how it is installed. Looked up madjax instructions online and shows a plug and play connection. Doesn't seem right to me unless this is a feature on 2011 pecedent excel. Don't see a seperate voltage reducer.

If the lights are all LED, then maybe they were hooked up to two of the batteries....most LED's can handle 16 volts. But you would have wires hooked to battery terminals.
Take a pic of your battery box.
Also the factory location for the reducer is under the cowl on the passenger side. You can turn the wheels to the left and get to the reducer location through the wheelwell on the passenger side.
If it has an aftermarket reducer it could be about anywhere.
I've actually seen some mounted behind the instrument panel.

Thanks for help. Will look closer for the reducer when I get home and a pic of battery box.

madjax states in there install instructions you must use a reducer with 6~8v batteries

http://bradsgolfcars.com/wp-content/...structions.pdf

try tracing wires to a reducer there should be a blue wire at the pack main positive ( passenger side rear battery }
