Default 1996 Club Car DS 48volt....NO GO!!!

96' Club Car DS 48volt Power Drive. I got the cart with no batteries in it and do not know anything about its past. I put a set of batteries in the cart and have 49-50 volts on the pack. I can't get the cart to run, Solenoids will not click unless they are jumped. When I press the foot pedal down I have 49 volts going threw the system back to the green/white wire on the controller. It looks like there was a new OBC installed in 2012 and the charger is working as it should. I'm at a stand still as I feel I've checked everything over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

BTW : Cart Serial # is A9606-486892
# on Controller is EV4L48XB2 and is a GE 5k Controller

When you say solenoid are you referring to the main contractor solenoid?

If so are you getting power through the positive activation wire that should close it in?

Look here http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...iagrams-2.html as there are 2 diagrams for your year cart. One of these should help you troubleshoot the wiring to test where your failure is.

Hey, it is the Regen 1 with two solenoids. Does the controller send voltage to the solenoid to turn it on/off? I have tried different ignition, checked micro switch, switched solenoids. The reverse buzzer comes on when put into reverse but the solenoids won't click.

I believe it does. Look at the drawing on page 2, post #13 which is a Regen 1 PDP drawing that has the two solenoids. It appears there is a wire coming from the controller, but to be honest, I zoomed in on the drawing and it got very distorted.

Take a look and in the meantime one of the other members may know for sure or have a better quality drawing to reference.

Things to check with no click
jack up rear of cart and place on jack stands for testing
key switch
by pass and test

micro switch at /in MCOR

it is attached to the frame
if it has 2 plugs in it
you take the 2 wire one out and place a paper clip "U" in it and test
uf cart runs MCOR is bad

Hey, I have bypassed the key switch and the mircoswitch already and nothing. When I switch the cart to reverse the buzzer goes off. When I jumped the first solenoid I still could not get the cart to move. I also traced the wire to the keyswitch, microswitch and back to the controller and have power to the wire when I step on the foot pedal. Thanks for all your help!! I'm leaning towards the controller being bad.
