Brake Pressure Loss after Lift and Springs??
Hi Guys,
I just installed a 6" MadJax Lift and HD Dual Action Leaf Springs in my 11' Precedent. I feel now as if the brakes are fairly spongy and take much more pressure to stop the cart (stock wheels, new ones aren't in yet) Any ideas the causes of this? The only "brake line" that was touched was the one nut that connect the brake lines to the front of leaf spring. |

Look under it while someone depresses and presses the brake pedal. Sounds like you have slop somewhere and the cable is traveling and causing the tension to be off.
If you find nothing wrong, take off the drums and inspect the shoes to make sure something didn't come off or get knocked loose. Then reinstall and adjust the shoes and it should be working correctly or through this process you found the culprit. (Sometimes cables are too short after a lift install but your was obviously fine since you have it hooked up) |

And if you do pull the drums, be sure to skuff them up slightly and knock the glaze off the shoes before re-installation.

Re: Brake Pressure Loss after Lift and Springs??
The driver's side brake cable needs to be addressed for sure. A Precedent with a 6" lift and thicker than standard springs needs to either have the brake plates flipped and swapped to the other side, or have the new OEM longer driver's side brake cable installed.
