Default Is this a problem?

While replacing my cables with 2AWG welding cable, I came across this on the A2 post. Do you think the motor is OK?

more than likely the nut was lose and that was sparking
you should be ok as it looks like the cable is not burnt

I've been accused of being a loose nut....my "motor" isn't burned up....yet

Gregorio, like CTD said, that is not an issue. Definitely does look like you had some arc-flashing at some point. And you could always pull the motor while you are there and blow it out, inspect the viewable internals, and lube (neverseize) that shaft. I did mine a couple of years ago and was surprised how much black dust had accumulated in there. And the shaft was bone dry and had started to corrode.

But if I do all of that, I will extend the life of the motor!
