2003 36V DS Was Working but Suddenly Won't Move
I was using my Club Car DS a week or so ago. It was working fine then when I stopped the last time it quit moving. My batteries were older so I replaced them and all the cables last night - still no movement.
The solenoid does click when I press on the pedal. I plugged in the battery charger last night even though the batteries were new and 12 hours later the charger was still going with the meter a little more than half way down? Anyone experienced this? Could it be the F/R switch or more likely just a wire somewhere corroded or broken? |

1) plug the cart in and let it fully charge (up to 16hrs)
2) look for a wire you may have forgotten to replace read this |

Great PDF CTD! Thank you.
Believe my problem is elsewhere besides the batteries but I will do as it states and let the charger do its thing until it shuts off. |

Stupid me didn't even know there were still 36 volt carts in '03.
And yes, you should have gotten some kind of movement from it, so when it is all charged and you try again, check for power in all the right places, check fuses, and you can jumper that FNR with the cables or wires if rocker style. It seems to be controller failures have been the hot topic the last 2 weeks. This is the most I recall in a very long time of reading from this board. |

Re: 2003 36V DS Was Working but Suddenly Won't Move
Check your cables and make sure they're clean and tight. Make sure they're not corroded or frayed, especially at the pivots on the back of the F&R switch. Poor connections generate heat, and in these particular model 36 volt cars, the White-Rogers 36 volt solenoids had a bad problem with melting at the stud where the white wire attached to it. Look at the base of the solenoid stud where the wire is attached and see if you can see the plastic pooled up where it has gotten hot.
