2002 Club Car DS voltage drain while accelerating
I have a 2002 Club Car DS 48 volt with new batteries. My cart was showing some big voltage drops when accelerating and it would start shaking which is still does. Now when I charge it the charger shuts off with in 10 minutes and showing 48 volts across the 8 volt batteries. Would a bad solenoid cause this problem? I drive it for about 10 minutes and it does the same thing again.

Your batteries need charging bad, they should be 50.9 when charged.

Yeah, your batteries are at less than 50%
Put the charger on it and let it go until the charger turns off. (Could be up to 16 hours) |

Re: 2002 Club Car DS voltage drain while accelerating
I have tried charging them but after 10 minutes the charger shuts off at 48 volts for some reason. I can drive it for about 5 minutes if that and then it starts shaking again and the volts drop to around 39. After letting it sit for a few minutes the voltage goes back up to around 46 to 47. Could this be the sign of a bad controller? OR even a bad Charger? I am not sure what is going on but also along with the new batteries it also has a new MCOR.

Then you have other issues.
Need to find out why your charger isn't working. Check this out and get back to us. I think if you had a full charge, your voltage drops would disappear... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...eshooting.html |

Re: 2002 Club Car DS voltage drain while accelerating
After doing the steps in checking the charging system the OBC was sending volts to the charger. So I installed a rebuild kit for the charger which included a relay, circuit breaker and rectifier. I could drive it for about 30 minutes then it starts shuddering again under full throttle and the volts go down to around 34 to 36. When trying to charge the batteries the charger never stays on for mor then 10 minutes. When charging the volts are at 50. When the charger shuts off the volts are at 48. Could a controller cause this problem? I am not sure what my next step would be.

I would check to make sure your wires from the charge port are connected correctly.

It should not even be close to cutting off at 50 volts |

Re: 2002 Club Car DS voltage drain while accelerating
I have to take the time to thank you guys for helping me out. I did reset the OBC. However that did not work so I purchased a new OBC along with the charging port. Now the cart is charging like it should again. Also has alot of power when driving it. So hopefully I can learn alot more from you guys and I will be able to help people out like you guys helped me.
