?? about speed
I have a 2006 Club Car Precedent with lift kit and 22" tires. This week, we had a radar set up in our neighborhood to help deter speeding cars so I put it to use. I ran the cart by it and the speed was 16mph. That seems slow to me but this is the first cart I have owned. Does this speed seem about right?

Re: ?? about speed
Which speed code do you have? You need #4 to get top speed which is around 21-22 with large tires and a "Good" battery pack.
Mine was around 17 mph until I had the speed code changed to #4 |

Re: ?? about speed
With the speed code three, yes it sounds right. Question is do you want to go faster or is it OK where it's at

Re: ?? about speed
I would definitely have them program it to speed code 4. If you want it or need it (speed) you have it. If you don't need it, you don't floor it. Better have it and not need it then need it and not have it.....

Re: ?? about speed
Is there a way I can program the speed code? I am not sure what is there, but I assume it is "stock". I am somewhat OK with the speed as we use it just to tour around the neighborhood, but I know in time I will probably want more. I think torque may be more important as we normally carry 3-5 people going to the pool.
And by the way: Go Noles!!! |

Re: ?? about speed
You have to take it to a dealer, cart service place, etc. as they have the hand held programmer and will have to get your serial number and then get the code from Club Car to program into it. It usually costs $75-$100 to do it.

Re: ?? about speed
Well, I dont think that is the route for me. If I am going to spend $100, I would rather put that towards a new controller and eventually upgrade the motor as well.

Re: ?? about speed
Get an Alltrax XCT48500IQ from one of the site sponsors. You can turn it down for your stock motor and still have gobs of torque and I'm getting 24mph with mine.

Re: ?? about speed
OP your cart is an IQ cart, just get a speed magnet from Revolution Golf Cars (site sponsor)
A whole lot easier on the wallet and achieves the same as speed code 4. The magnet will also turn off the regen braking. http://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/_p...r%2C-iq-system |

Re: ?? about speed
I will have to check that out. How do I confirm that my cart is right for it?
