Question Reducer totally confused now

So after two failed"cheap"reducers from amazon I ordered up the recommended one from Scotty B who got it here in a snap . So I need to get it in before we leave on Wednesday for our trip. Now before I blow this thing up I need some help. I have all the diagrams and I think I have it figured out but here is my confusion. I tested the current coming out of my key switch and it only reads 27v is this correct? Battery pack reads 50.4. It seems as if it should be 36/48 based on instructions Next my light kit harness gives me a red fused wire which I gather will go to green on reducer? And a black which from what I can tell will tie together with the black from reducer and then a piggyback off of those will run to the neg terminal of the battery pack. Is this making any sense?

2 things. What are you running to key switch? Unless it is something I don't know about (quite possible) 27v at key switch does not sound right.

That's what I'm confused about. I just used a tester. It's reading 27.8v

Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong? The instructions say yellow to keyed switch and I am assuming that it means to tap to one side of the ignition key terminal that is hot when in the on position? That is what I tested and got the 27v reading

That would be pretty if it were anodized like maybe a red color.

Where are you putting your meter wires when you get that voltage?
