Default DS Cart Voltage

I see that some DS carts have 6-6 volt batteries and some have 6-8 volt batts.
Is there a way to know what batts you cart should have? Are they interchageable?
Mine is a 96 model DS with 6-8volts in it. I'm just wondering, is that correct?

Thanks Guys....................BuddyGO

That's right a 96 DS with six 8 volts would be a 48volt system not to be confused with 6 6v which is a 36v system...Welcome Buddy.

and yes they can be interchanged for a few $100 dollers.
Going from 36 up to 48 on DS carts is common, but it will cost $$,
but adds power and speed.
Going down from 48 to 36 is a Very Bad decision ,
it cost Power, speed and $$

Except if you simply put a 36v motor into that 48v cart.
