2009 Club Car Precedent is slow moving
I have a 2009 Club Car Precedent that is slow moving in forward. It starts out at a good speed then slows down. I did the speed sensor test. I felt resistance trying to push it forward by hand and the reverse buzzer went beep beep beep as I was trying to push it forward. I let the batteries charge all night. I then used my multimeter to check voltage of the batteries. All six batteries were reading 8.22 volts after being on the charger all night. The batteries are Autocraft GC8 8v batteries. All 6 have a sticker on top that says 03/14. These batteries were in the cart when I bought it last year. Could it be my batteries or the MCOR that is causing my slow speed? Thank you for any replies.

Re: 2009 Club Car Precedent is slow moving
Fully charged batteries shud be up at 8.49v so 8.22v after a full charge is +-65%. Once the charger has turned off unplug it from the car wait 30secs. then plug it in again. The charger meter shud go up to +-10A then taper down to 5-6A. with the charger still running check each battery voltage. A good one will be +-10.6v an older one below 10v. just prior to charger switching off.

Yep, what Golfdog said, but also with the batteries:
- How old are they? - How long after you are carting does it slow down? - If you charge them today and come back tomorrow, what is the pack voltage about ~12 hours after the charge completed? This will tell you a lot about your battery condition for plates and sulfate formation. |

Can't help on the batteries but one try to see if it helps the MCOR is to press the pedal 20-25 times with the key off. In some cases it somehow cleans the MCOR and may be a temporary fix if that is indeed the problem.

I'm not sure but the speed sensor tests are not always definitive. It sounds like it is still going into limp mode.

Sometimes the cart will slow down shortly after I start using it. Other times it will go for 5 minutes or so before it is slow running. After charging them overnight the pack voltage will be less than 50 volts. |

Re: 2009 Club Car Precedent is slow moving
It is attached to the rear of the motor. If its a GE motor then it clips in otherwise a top hat shaped sensor held on by 2 screws. If your batteries are less than 50v after a full charge then it is too low, shud be 50.9 on a good set. Although the slowing down sounds like sensor it would not run for 5 mins before slowing down. Your initial test of getting resistance when pushed is a clear sign that the sensor is probably ok. Your batteries although they don't look that great they shud last more than a few minutes, so MCOR could be an issue.

Re: 2009 Club Car Precedent is slow moving
I just tried what you said. Then I drove the cart and it SEEMED to help. BUT the longer I drove the cart the slower it got. It wasn't creeping along but it was going slower than what it did when I bought it. I use it at a seasonal campground. The campground has several "hills" and at times I think that I'm going to have to get off it and finish pushing it up the "hill". It always makes it to the top but sometimes it is at a very slow crawl. Then when I get on flat ground it will pick up speed but not the speed it had earlier this year. If I pump the accelerator pedal it will pick up some speed then slow down after a short distance.

Golfdog: Where is the MCOR located? The cart I had before this on was a 1990 EzGo Marathon so of this is new to me.
