Re: Charger getting hot
What model charger is it? The PowerDrive3 gets so hot you can't touch it.

Re: Charger getting hot
My charger is just the power drive. How much is a new one and where can I get one?

Re: Charger getting hot
If the power cord is getting hot, you may have a poor connection at the receptacle. Receptacle may be corroded or bad. the blades of the charger male plug may be corroded or have a poor connection inside of the plug.

Re: Charger getting hot
I hear this all the time and 99.9 percent of the time it is normal. The chargers get hot, that's why thny need to have lots of ventilation .
Transformer noise is an easy fix and doesn't mean the transformer is going bad. The shellac on the transformer has just heat cycled so many times its not longer is holding the transformer plates together and they vibrate. Ive found chargers last 20 years plus as long as you don't leave them out in the rain. The majority of charger repairs are right around a hundred bucks if you have some body fix it. |

Re: Charger getting hot
I'm not sure how old my charger is but I found a number on the side and it says 9 98 it almost seems like a date. The cart is a 95 so who knows if it's the original charger that came with it. Do you think it would be worth buying a rebuild kit for it? It's not nearly as hot as it was last night

As noted, be sure sll the contacts and connections are tight and then if it is operating correctly, a rebuild kit would probably not do much for you. |
