1994 DS solid state conversion
First time posting and really need some help!
I have a 1994 Club Car DS. I purchased and installed a solid state kit # C52 and heavy duty f&r switch from Carts Unlimited. I used it a small amount and everything seemed perfect, loaded on the trailer and went to the beach. Unloaded the cart drove around the house to be able to plug in the battery charger, the next morning it's dead! No clicking or any noises. I just had the thought that the newly installed fuse @ the solenoid could have blown, turned the key on and a test light shows power on both fuse terminals. Where do I start checking? |

Check for a loose/disconnected wire.

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
First I would follow all connections to make sure nothing came loose during transport, especially the connections under the pot.
Do you get a click from the solenoid? |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
C52 conversion kit includes the SR48500 Alltrax controller with LED status light. Can you tell us if
1. the LED light is coming on and if yes what sequence of what color lights do you see? 2. Does the solenoid click when you try to go? |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
I don't think something came loose during transport because I backed it off the trailer and drove around the yard before connecting the charger.
All connections are tight. Led light does not come on in any color. No solenoid clicks. |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
Okay no (+) power but where does it stop?
Follow it from it's battery (+) source, to the keyswitch, to the F&R micro switch, to the solenoid, to the controller J1 red. |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
Back on this Club Car repair after a long delay. Scotty B. My test light lights up bright on J1 Red when in forward or reverse. Lights up less bright on J1 Black forward & reverse. Cart doesn't click or move in either direction. No lights come on controller.
Please advise me of the next step! Thanks for the help |

Re: 1994 DS solid state conversion
There is an LED on the controller.
When the solenoid just clicks the controller should flash green 3 times and go solid green. If throttle signal is good LED will turn a orangey yellow at full throttle. See the owners manual for a list of LED status codes. Is the solenoid clicking? Do you have a voltmeter for testing? |
