Default Battery drain acceptable after 500/400/2gauge install?

Just recently picked up a 2014 CC Precedent JE1444. Batteries are original to the cart. So assuming 2-3 years old max. Battery appearance is good. Decently clean and when I cleaned with baking soda there was almost no bubbling. Just one or two very small areas that went away fast. Water level was above all plates. I topped off after last full charge and right before the run. Picture is of the batteries before I cleaned them.

Stock motor, stock wheels/tires, Alltrax 500, 400 solenoid, and 2 guage wiring. Bought the combo from carts unlimited.

Controller settings:
460 amps
6000 rpm
30% regen
30% throttle (gonna lower this)
Turbo
Street
Standard Torque Speed Graph

Run was 6.3 miles in my neighborhood. Neighborhood is far from flat and very few straightaways. 2 hills I went up are nearly impassable after a winter storm without 4x4 vehicle. They are steep and long. So let's say this was a real world run. Lots of hills, turns, stop signs, etc. I kept it at full throttle except for sharp turning and stop signs.

Started at 50.9 volts. Fully charged twice. Second time was after a full charge unplugging for 30 minutes and charging again till complete. Volts after the run are 49.7 after sitting for 10 minutes. Temp outside is 92 with high humidity.

Pretty sure I didn't miss any details.

Forgot to add. During the run volts never dropped below 44. The 44 was about 4 miles into it and up the steepest hill. Average was 46-50.

So, you blasted your way up and down steep hills with what appears to be minimal regen (not sure where you see 30% regen and you don't say what your regen battery amps are) for over 6 miles and burned about 25% of your battery capacity. Sounds about OK to me.

To gauge how much regen you need is to see how much brake pedal you are using going down the hills. I am using 120 as the maximum armature amps and 85 back to the battery. However, my FNKS is usually turned down to about 85% of the max armature amps. Battery amps are matched to the armature amps but no more than 85.

Gotta hook it back up to get the amps for regen. I pretty much left the regen where ScottyB put it. On the downward of the steepest hill hitting 26-27mph I had no issues with stopping. Very little to medium brake pressure. Regen seems to be adequately set.

Nice results. On stock tires, no less. I'm looking forward to getting a new controller very soon. Do you have the FKNS feature?

I didn't add it to the bundle. Decided to get the DC Voltage Reducer instead. Which ended up being the wrong thing to do. Once I opened up the cart and started digging it already had the CC Factory reducer up front. Now do I sell it? Or install it anyway? I already ran a + and - from the batteries to the front.

Ill get the FNKS once I get a new motor.

Be careful with that downhill speed. Not sure but 27 might be exceeding 6000 and the stock motor's ability to stay in one piece! Increased regen will keep it at the 6000 rpm limit you set. If you go too low on regen, gravity will let it overspeed.

You can't return the reducer and exchange for the FNKS?

I haven't asked yet. I got the parts Friday. Mailman was at my house when we pulled in with the new cart. Talk about timing.

He is out of the office till Monday.

I think the 27 is a little exaggerated. Typical downhill speeds were 25ish. That 27 seemed like a GPS jump.

With the factory one Im going to have to splice into the harness. Its all wired up to factory headlights and taillights through harness connections. Thought something was funny when I opened the battery compartment and saw a 30amp fuse with 10g wiring going to the main + and - terminals. Looked like factory so I didn't think anything of it at first.

New to carts and learned a lot when I tried following the XCT install directions and I had all sorts of discrepancies and multiple extra wires not on the install. Lots of improvising with mounting and wiring. All the major wires were the same. Thank god for taking pictures before hand. And all hooked up right on the first shot. Well the F and R were reversed and just had to reverse the connections on the controller. Other than that it went smooth.

LOL - you didn't read enough Alltrax install posts! The instructions are all wrong with the field wiring.

Double check the rating on the factory reducer. Also, I think there is a 12v wire (gray?) up front that is can be easily unplugged from the harness and tapped for accessories. If I remember, it is for the brake lights.

Do you have a wiring diagram?

LOL X2.

Do a google map on the engineering department address.

Nothing wrong with a cottage industry, as long as they're not trying to look like some major corporation to the clients.
