Default serial # and batteries dont jive

Hi great forum Hope I do this right. Looking at my first cart Club Car. Person gave me serial number but lost it . I knoe it was a00????? but he tells me it Has 6 new interstate batteries that add upp to 48 volts [6x8].Does this mean it is supposed to be 36 volts and he added extra volts or what . any help appreciatedhttp://indianapolis.craigslist.org/rvs/1043196355.html

No - 6x8=48

well I mean serial number starts with a single [a] does this mean machine was originally a 36 volt

Oh - I really don't know that answer. Not sure that the A stands for 36 volt though...

A means DS AA means 48V AB means 36V Check the sticky above your thread for the serial # key. Craigs list says it is '00 It must be an "early 2000" as model changed mid year. It looks like early due to aluminum roof struts. on later 2000 they were black. Look at the serial number on the cart. 1st. two numbers are year built. next gives week built. It looks like a great cart from Craigs list pic. You can tell if motor ,etc. has been upgraded by asking the seller info on motor, controller etc. Call him for serial number again and come back to your thread with that info. Someone will help you out. If it is as represented it looks like it could be worth the $3,900.
