2014 custom elite precedent club car mileage
Im thinking of buying a elite precedent club car 2014. It has a lot of features. price is in the upper 4000 range.. My question -- It has been service by a club car dealer several times.. Has new batteries and new 10 inch tires it has 8600 miles per club car dealer. Private individual owner... Does 8600 miles after 3 years of use hurt the Golf Cart?

Re: 2014 custom elite precedent club car mileage
That sure does seem like an awful lot of miles for a '14. I have a '14 automobile (occasional vehicle) with less miles than that.
I am not sure what the normal usable expectancy of the suspension and major electronic parts are, maybe David or someone else knows, but just to show you the relevancy that is like driving from Florida to California and back again two times over.... And I was looking on CL just 3 weeks ago for a family member to purchase a cart and he bought a '13 Precedent for $3300 and I thought that was a little high as it was plain-Jane, but he said it was impeccable and hardly used. |

Never really thought about it in terms of miles. 3 years =1095 days. Equals about 7.85 miles per day. On a year round golf course, easily that. Could have been more.
Wow. Is my math correct? |

The total is still pretty high. I looked up the yardage of the courses in Florida and they average roughly 6500 yards. When you go from side to side and in and out of the rough that could easily become 9000 yards which is 5.1 miles. So, if the cart was used every day for one round 365 days a year for three years it would not reach 8600 miles (more like 5600 miles). It's not impossible to get up that amount on a golf course (some courses are longer and it could be used for two rounds per day on at least some days) but it is still at the top of believable. |

Re: 2014 custom elite precedent club car mileage
Yawood, I think we are getting close. I'm not sure what the average number of miles driven on an average length 18 hole course is, but it is probably more than most would suspect.
This topic came up a while back when somebody in here was figuring run time. He used a GPS or something to record the miles driven on his course. I don't remember the exact figures but way more than the yardage for the course. Also, at least around here, some of the courses have distances from one green to the next tee over 200 yards. Interesting topic. Hope to learn more! |

The cart belongs to someone in the Villages Florida. Not only golf usage but use for traveling all over the Villages for going shopping and entertainment. Just wondered if 8600 miles would really effect the golf cart negatively.

I would expect that any cart coming out of The Villages would be on the high side for our mileage expectations. There are probably lots of carts there that never see a golf course and are used exclusively for transportation. It is not your average golf cart community.

Re: 2014 custom elite precedent club car mileage
some of the carts in the villages get 10000 to 13000 miles a yr on them, they serve the purpose of a car there
