PowerDrive3 Charger issue
So a couple weeks ago I completed my 2012 Precedent rehab which included brand new batteries. I charged the cart and everything worked properly. Took it down to Ohio for a trip and everything was still working while there. After I got back I put the charger back on, it kicked on and started charging so I let it go. I went back to double check and the charger had shut of too quickly so I unplugged it from the cart and plugged it back in. This time the needle went to 10 amps or so but wasnt steady but more like vibrating very fast and then the breaker kicked. Thats all it does now.

Re: PowerDrive3 Charger issue
Most likely a rectifier. I just completed replaced it in two separate chargers not 30 min ago. There are two model Power Drive 3 chargers, 26560 and 26580 which are wired the same but use different type rectifiers.

Re: PowerDrive3 Charger issue
My charger is a 26560. Is this a a problem that normally happens or was the trip I took with it what brought this on? We were on some pretty crappie roads and although secured it was probably a rough ride.

Re: PowerDrive3 Charger issue
Not sure why it happens so often. I purchase 10 rectifiers at a time. I do a lot of cart repair for fellow members at my club. Most of the just fail. But I had one the spewed fire like a small roman candle, contained in the charger. Nothing hurt but some wire insulation and the rectifier. Here is where I get them, fast shipping and fair.

Re: PowerDrive3 Charger issue
That bolts to the heatsink correct? Does it require thermal grease and if so does it come with the part or do you have to get it separately?

Re: PowerDrive3 Charger issue
It doesn't come with it. I have a separate tube of it, like a travel toohpaste size. You should be able to find that at Mouser too.

Re: PowerDrive3 Charger issue
Does that thermal grease have a higher temp capacity or could I use the thermal paste I have for a cpu?
