Default Dead in the water ds

ok so my son was driving our 89 club car and almost hit our house and quickly threw the cart into reverse....and thats where the trouble starts the cart will not move on its own power sooo i have replaced the f and r switch it needed it anyway and that didnt do it...so i started digging and noticed that the micro switch inside the v glide was broken..so i took the one off the old f and r switch but i dont think its right...so when that didnt fix it i ordered a solinoid thinking that was the problem and put the new one in...and still nothing..so i jumped the v glide micro switch and then the large terminals on the solinoid and victory the cart moved....so then i checked the small terminals for continuity and i got nothing so im wondering if i wired it backwards and fried it ???

have you checked your key switch

power route for solenoid activation

key switch > micro switch in f/r switch
the micro switch in the v-glide

ok so after looking over the diagram something was alittle fishy and for some reason maybe me or the previous owner but there were two hot leads running to the small terminals of the solenoid so i checked it for continuity and nothing i just send 12v to it and nothing so im thinking this miswired line has fried it

The F+R m/s is 1014808, 2 tab, wired Normally Open.

The V-glide m/s is 1014807, 3 tab, wired Normally Closed.

The 2 tab can't replace the 3 tab. Try the right m/s first.

ok so i must be missing something the key should be sending 12v to the f and r mirco switch then when that is depressed it should send 12v to the solenoid that then pulls the switch the transfer power to the v glide....im getting power to the solenoid just no click..if i jumper the solenoid the cart moves...

Did you put a 12 volt solenoid in your cart? That would be a problem.

Your old solenoid is likely still good. The 12 volt one is likely shot putting 36 volts to it. Put the old one back on.
