Rare Club Car Value Guess
Hey everumyone,
I am going to look at a rare(ish) NR03serial number club car pathway New Yorker. It has the IQ drive system,1 month old batteries (6 8V), elongated roof, windshield wiper, defrost, turn signals, brake lights, of course regular lights as well, seat belts, rear seat setup with seat belts, side view mirrors, and i think 4 wheel braking. It was an attempt at a partnership between GM and Club Car to create neighborhood electric vehicles. They used to do 25mph until being "de-NEV'd" by Club Car before selling to the public. Some posts of others who had ones said they will do 19 easily and it's most likely that they removed higher amperage controllers from the before sale, and installed 250a Curtis. There have only been a few others threads in BGW about pathways, so they are very unusual, in this set-up at least. This bad little thing looks absolutely mint, not a scuff or scratch anywhere. Sellers asking $2500. He states it's not your average cart, but I'm not sure he truly knows what this is. Even at full price purchase, I think getting a mint IQ DS with brand new batteries, rear seat, and elongated roof is an absolute steal. Opinions? |

That is a pretty darned good price for a clean, street legal DS with new batteries. If you never intend to register it with the DMV it might be a couple hundred overpriced. CC installed different gears and reprogrammed the controllers to make them 19MPH.

BTW, the street legal bonus is worthless without a good title or MSO. Be sure to get that or registering will be extremely difficult if not impossible.

Re: Rare Club Car Value Guess
Here's a photo guys. Looks like it's one of the rare ones that slipped brought the cracks and was never decommissioned or de-NEV by Club Car. If everything works, with brand new batteries, she's coming home with me, period. Hell, if the defroster works, there's not one available on the internet anywhere! That's got to be worth $300-400 by itself. It's a little too much beige, but I completely took apart a series DS, so I'd be ok at tearing her down for paint.
As for the registration of the cart, VA law says a cart can be used anywhere that the speed limit is less than or equal to 25mph and can cross intersections where speed is <35 from any direction. Also, speed limits don't apply to trips less than 1/2 mile from home. Pretty wide open there. That means some entire towns can have golf cart use. If I were to try and sell it to a different market, I read a thread about a guy who contacted Club Car years back and got an MSO. Trying to rind that thread... |

Re: Rare Club Car Value Guess
Using the manual from club car for the 2003 LSV/NEV, it has everything on the cart except the 12 volt charger, which might be there I just can't see from photos. Also the serial number sticker that's under the dash is NR----. If it was de-NEV looks like the only remnants are the serial number sticker behind the key switch dash. That's how most people find out their cart started as a NEV.

Re: Rare Club Car Value Guess
Can anybody tell me what makes a cart a LSV (low speed vehicle) versus just a regular converted golf cart? LSV must be registered, but not golf carts in VA. Curious if that's the same law as in NC and SC where this type of cart would be commonly used.
Apparently, in S.C. all you need is proof of insurance, which is easy to grab with just the serial number, and a $5 bill!! Not worried about that. Per NC DMV If you have a low-speed vehicle, such as a golf cart, you must have it registered before you can drive it on public streets and highways. You will first need to have it inspected for adequate: Headlamps. Stop lamps. Turning signals. Tail lamps. Reflex reflectors. Parking brakes. Rearview mirrors. Windshields (and wipers). Speedometer. Seat belts. VIN number. Once it passes the inspection, visit your local NC DMV office with proof of your insurance. You'll also need to pay a registration fee. Contact the NC Division of Motor Vehicles for more information. |

Re: Rare Club Car Value Guess
In Kommiefornia, we have 3 classes of vehicles; golf carts <15MPH, Neighborhood Electric Vehicle <20MPH, and Low Speed Electric Vehicle <25MPH. The requirements are more stringent as you go up the speed ladder and only the upper two can be registered for use on public streets. There is no path to take a golf cart without the 17 digit vin and MSO/title to street legality in this state. I'm sure the policies are much more relaxed in most of the free states. That is why I am stressing that you get the MSO/title because that is what makes this cart so much more valuable.
