I have a 96 Club car that I just installed a jakes lift on , will new heavy duty leaf springs increase the rear ride height?

Re: heavy duty leaf springs
Yes. And if they were part of the kit they usually have small blocks to lift them higher and equivalent to the front.

Re: heavy duty leaf springs
The kit did not come will leaf springs ,I installed the blocks with the stock leafs. I am going to install the rear seat kit next , so I was going to do the heavy duty leafs. Just curious if the heavy leafs would change ride height in the rear?

Re: heavy duty leaf springs
It will raise it more as it does not have as much drop in the sprung steel due to being more of them. Its primarily to support more weight and not drop down onto your tires.

Re: heavy duty leaf springs
I just installed a Jake 6" double a-arm lift. The previous owner of my DS added the rear seat kit, but left the original leaf springs in place. The original springs were pretty much shot, but I did not have a set of heavy duty springs and left in the original ones. The rear of the cart was noticeably lower...I know some of this is due to the worn out springs. I purchased a set of heavy duty springs and installed the next day. Now my car sits level! I would definitely install the heavy duty springs when you install the rear seat. I wish I would have take a picture with the original springs, but was not thinking. Attached is a picture after the heavy duty springs were installed.

Re: heavy duty leaf springs
The Dual-action or Medium Duty springs seem to be a good balance between support and ride quality. A lot of guys have complained about the Heavy Duties being hard on the kidneys and either took out a leaf (3-leaf) or swapped completely.
Depending on how bad the old springs where, you expect 3/4" to 1" difference in height with Dual-action or Medium Duty springs. I have dual action on my cart. . |
