Default 2006 48V Club Car Stalls only going up hill

Problem just started 2 weeks ago and seems to be getting worse. Mostly while driving up an incline, the cart will stall. Batteries are 1.5 years old. I checked all battery connections, all tight and clean. When it stalls, I can push the pedal all the way down and it changes nothing. I can flip forward and reverse switch, nothing changes. Only when I back the pedal all the way off and then push again does the cart move. Problem is more prevalent going up hill for some reason. I've replaced the MCOR and the Solenoid but problem still exists. The motor has had a magnet upgrade put that was done 2 years ago and this problem just started. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I'm looking for ideas where to start looking. Thanks, Frank

They might only be 1.5 years old, but what is the pack voltage when this occurs? That is very very very important. If you do not have a DVM, then hook up your portable one and lay it on the seat and monitor pack voltage when you first start out and then what it drops to on the incline and then most importantly when it stalls. There may be a battery or cell issue happening....

I will definitely give that a try. I do have a digital voltmeter.
Thanks!

OK I put the volt meter on it. Sitting still it shows 47.7 volts. Going up a hill the voltage begins to drop and when it gets to approximately 43 volts it stalls, then the voltage goes back up to 47.1. Back the pedal off and go again, same thing, voltage drops to 43.2 and it stalls. Do you think its the batteries? What is the minimum voltage these carts will operate on?
Thanks

Ouch! That is terrible.... You are at about ~37% pack charge before you ever hit the Go Pedal. You should be at 50.92 volts and that is at a steady state - meaning after they have sat for 12 hours and hold there.
No doubt it is your batteries..... (was that after a complete charge?)

Here you go:

You may want to check each individual battery and see if one is the culprit or the entire pack is weak.

How old are they (I know you said 1.5 years, but what is the date code stamped in them) and what kind are they?

Do you charge them each time you use the cart and have they been well maintained?

Are you using the Powerdrive charger? (And it does cut on, fully charge, and then cut off like it should?)

Charger is a Club Car Power Drive 2. Date code stamped on the batteries is C6Y, not sure what that means. I've never had to add water to them. I do not charge every time cart is used, they're charged approximately every 4-5th time but the cart is only used around the house for 10-15 minutes at a time. I put it on the charger at night and remove it in the morning. I know the charger starts and its always off when I remove it but I've never timed it to see how long it stays on. Beginning to think the charger may be at fault. How can I verify the charger is working correctly?

If I had to guess I would say they are marine batteries.

If so that is the real problem they are used up as far as golf carts go.

I think they are correct mrgolf as that is OEM for CC 12v carts and hopefully he just kept that type as I have them in my '07 and they do say deep cycle, too. (I'm sure he will let us know...)
