Default Battery Post Melted Club Car DS

I have a DS V Glide 36V. The last battery post in the bank melted. Obviously it's getting too hot.

The cart was carrying two adults, two kids, and a dog at the time of failure, and it was going up a slight grade. I have 12:1 high torque gears in the gearbox.

Is there a fix for this? Am I just pulling too much current? To me it seems the resistors and the motor should limit the current draw to the capability of the batteries.

Maybe it was just a loose connection, or maybe I need a different cable. Any ideas?

I'd post a picture, but I can't figure out how...

Could be loose/bad connection or a bad cable. How old are the cables and how do they look? Post a pic for opinions if your not sure if they look good or bad. Search YouTube for the battery terminal fix.

I bought a cart and melted a post off the first day. Had multiple cables that weren't tight. Took them all off, cleaned everything up, put in new posts (as per the battery post repair link discussed) and tightened it all down. No more issues with that. Make sure your cables are good and the right gauge.

Melted post = Bad connection.
CTD has a link up above to repair or a work around for the melted post.
