Re: Battery meter wiring to ignition switch
Every cart mechanic should have a multi-meter. If you do not have one and are not sure about what you need and where to get it watch this short video on my website here > Scottyb's troubleshooting tips
If you do not have a meter today you can use the voltmeter you have there. Simply connect the meter's negative lead to the battery pack main negative (-) and touch the meter's positive (+) lead to the wires in question with the key in both positions. The meter will show you how the key switch wires are powered, directly or switched and let you choose which connection you want for your meter. |

Re: Battery meter wiring to ignition switch
It changed between 94.5 and 95, the visual way to check would be to look at the VGlide micro-switch to see if it has a Black wire (positive key switch) or a Red wire (negative key switch).
The best way is to measure the voltage from both key switch terminals (key switch turned OFF) to both pack positive and pack negative battery posts. If You get voltage with the meter probe on pack positive, the switch is negative. If You get voltage with the meter on pack negative, the switch is positive. The side you get a voltage reading is the "Always ON" or "Hot side", the other side would be the "switched" side. |
