Reversing Contactor and 2awg installed
Just finished installing 2 gauge cables and Scottys contactor....love the toggle switch! If I didn't decide to upgrade the cables it would have been an even easier install. Made all the cables myself with a hydraulic crimping tool. After running it for 30 minutes straight 2 things stood out......Changing direction is much easier....... and the 2 gauge cables run about 10 degrees cooler than the custom 4 gauge cables I previously had. Also,no roof on this hunting rig, so I turned the toggle upside down. Also mounted the contactor below the rear access panel, kept the cable lengths very short that way. Few pics below, and yes I know it's dirty, but it'll be in the woods tomorrow, no use cleaning it
Also would like to thank Scotty B for answering my emails, he clarified my concerns and everything worked as it should on the first try, same as when he helped me with the solid state conversion. Thanks Scotty! |

Re: Reversing Contactor and 2awg installed
Thanks bro. With the roof off I had an issue of rain draining down behind the seat into the plugins on the controller, this caused it to "short out" per say. I've since made a cover for the controller that keeps that from happening. Hence the toggle being "upside down". You don't want direct rain on any of that

Glad I could help and it looks ready to go. Short cable runs are always a plus. The upside down F&R mount first came to fruition for some member whose youngster would sit in the middle of the front seat and either play with the switch or hit it with their feet. Either way its a good idea. You might apply a bit of sealing caulk around the top half way to prevent any possible water intrusion.

Yea I sealed it with black silicon, also filled in the top hole with it, makes it nice having a black bedlinered cart, easy to hide flaws. The dang stock F/R gave me fits getting it off, ended up just drilling out the screws, but ultimately the plastic around them got so hot it melted and just pushed them though.
Really like both the contractor and 2 gauge upgrade. Tooled around at slow speeds for an hour today and couldn't find a component that exceeded 88 degrees. Love it |

In the rain though, the windshield makes about as much difference as the top itself. |
