Default Alltrax Controller and 400a Solenoid Install Help

I've just installed an Alltrax XCT500, 400a Solenoid and Admiral A2 motor that I bought from ScottyB - Carts Unlimited. Spent hours trying to troubleshoot why it wouldn't run and finally figured out the MCOR was bad. Seemed like a strange coincidence but I put a new MCOR in and it ran right away. Ran great in forward and reverse no problem.

Took it back to my garage and re-assembled everything, seats, etc. Went to move the cart and, you guessed it, it wouldn't run. Oddly, the solenoid clicks on very strongly as soon as I put the cart in forward or reverse (without applying throttle) but the cart won't move.

I've gone through all the wiring, checked for loose connections, etc.

Cart is a 2003 DS. I'm wondering of the controller is somehow blowing up my MCOR - its acting like the MCOR is bad again.

Ideas?

If the controller LED is going solid green on start up and then orange at full pedal the MCOR signal is good.

After hours of checking and rechecking everything, and bypassing the OBC to see if OBC problem, I finally took the MCOR back out. The new part is defective - it will not return to the "off" position on its own, e.g. you have to put some force into it to get it to turn back off. That's why the solenoid is activating everytime I put it into drive or reverse. What a PITA...

The other thing that is concerning me is the charger is no longer working. OBC bypass did not resolve that and the relay, fuse and breaker all check out fine. Sort of unbelievable that I could be having failures on so many fronts but I'll take the charger to see if it charges another cart tomorrow when I pick up a MCOR replacement. If my OBC is actually bad then I'll just leave it bypassed and buy a new charger.

Pretty sure this cart is haunted.

I'm in the same boat. I can't drive my cart until my new battery charger shows up. I'm afraid to discharge my batteries too far. I ended up bypassing the OBC.

Andy,

Your charger is boxed up and ready to be picked up by the carrier. Thanks again for your business. If you need to hot-wire the charge port temporarily and use your PowerDrive charger, you can. Route the black negative wire from the back of the charge port to the main negative battery post. Route the small grey wire from the back of the charge port to the same location. Plug in your PowerDrive charger and it will turn on. Just be aware that it will not turn off. Monitor your voltage. You can unplug the charger when voltage reaches around 58 volts. This will be very close to a full charge. Your charger should be there Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest.
