Default Re: club cart rearend making a clicking noise

Hi Guy's thanks for all the input, I did have my cart on jack stands and front wheels were chalked. I went about 1/4 throttle just to listen to the noise. I just came back from club car , bought a new guide ring and just installed now I will wait till the glue dry's. This has been a learning experence for me. A little story. I found a 97 ds 48 volt club cart with rear seat ,roof and windshield overall in nice shape for 300.00 dollars I thought at the time this is a steal . Well after new T875 trojan battries 800.00 , all new cables 25.00 ,new paint job 100.00dollars, tires and wheels 200.00, brakes 75.00 , A used motor 125.00 ,new rear springs 100.00, new fabric for front and rear seats 135.00. And now a 5.00 guide ring . When my new springs get here will put all back together. And all I know this better work or you guy's will here me scream from MA. Now if all works well I will be toasting you guy's with at least a 30 pack. I will let you know what happens hopefully with running the cart in the air I did not screw up my good new used motor. Thanks

Awesome!!! Happy endings again
Doesn't it feel good when you fix your own problem instead of paying for someone else to do the work for you

Success by one makes us all happy. Now lets move that 48V to the next step--Plum Quick, HD Controller, 6" lift and those hot
22" with chromes!! Keep in touch so you can help walk another newbie through the guide ring replacement process.

Hi tlumpkin, welcome aboard. When you decide you want to stop the clicking in your 99 just hop on the forum and search under Club Car Electric "clicking in rear end" you will find 3 or 4 good threads as to how to fix the problem. Be sure and report in on your progress in case you need a hand on anything. Sounds like you will need an "alignment guide ring". Cost is about $4.50/5.00 at Club Car dealer.
