Default Precedent leaf springs too long

The heavy duty leaf springs that I put on my precedent when I installed my lift kit seem to be to long. They bolted up fine, but after having some riders on the back I noticed the leaf Spring hangers had rotated up against the frame of my rear seat (see pics). I was wondering, is it normal for these springs to be longer than the factory springs, or is it possible I installed something wrong. I put the shorter side of the springs to the rear like the instructions said. I've included three pics, the leaf Spring hanger rotated up, the bolts hitting against my seat frame, and the other is holding the factory Spring even with the front of the heavy duty springs showing the difference in length at the rear. I've emailed the company I bought them from, but have not heard anything back yet. Thanks for your help.

Your springs look to have lost their arch which would make them longer.
Either the springs are made from the wrong steel and could not support the weight and did not rebound as they should.
Or, your top spring has snapped, most likely right above the axle. I've not seen this on a cart with new springs but, it happens on boat trailers on a regular basis.

The Precedent leaf springs are very flat with hardly any arch from factory.

We had another member deal with the same issue on a new precedent, perhaps he will notice the thread and post his resolution.

Make sure the shackles are not over-tightened which could keep the shackle from moving freely, the correct torque on those bolts is only 15 ft-lb.

Here is the thread with the leaf spring issue and welcome to the site

That was one of the first things I looked at, to see if they were broke. Both sides are the same way.

Are your wheels centered in the wheel wells. If so the best thing would be to change to the other shackles style.

I was thinking they could be backwards and that would cause them Not to be centered as well. I know on my H/D springs had a front and back to them.

Yes the wheels are centered. I went back and looked at the instructions to make sure I had them installed the correct way. I will check the torque on the bolts when I get home. The instructions didn't specify a torque when I put them on.

swcraig1,

What brand springs are these? And what is the length of the spring from eye to eye? I asked on the other members thread, but I don't remember if I ever got an answer.

The springs came from YZM carts in North Carolina, but looking back at my eBay history where I ordered them, they listed the brand as WANDA/TYSE. Problem is it's been over 30 days since I ordered them so I'm sure the won't replace them. I'm going to give them the rest of today to reply to me email, if I don't hear from them today I'm going to give them a call. The springs measure 30 1/4" long, the factory springs measure 29 1/4".

Also, I tried loosening the bolts and torqued them back to the correct torque setting and this didn't help either.
