Default Please help determine this model and controller

I just picked a 1996 Club Car DS 48v, serial #A9644-541058. I know the controller is blown, and i cant seem to find which one i would need to replace it. One one side it has three horizontal contacts and 1 vertical (above the middle horizontal one), and on the other side of the controller is a large plug and 2 vertical contacts (B+ and B-) Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. It does have the rocker style f&r switch, not the lever

And if you have to purchase a new one, consider the SR series from Alltrax when you are pricing it out.

He said rocker switch which implies Regen 1 but the controller description sounds completely wrong. He must have a series cart with big lever for fwd/rev, right?

That's a 23 pin regen 2 controller which came out mid to late '97, but you have a '96 cart so it should have been a "T" shaped regen 1 type. I am assuming someone upgraded the old controller to regen 2.

Alltrax made the DCX-300-PDP to replace that regen 2 controller and now make the XCT-48300-PD+ which is the best of the best.

If you need one I would recommend contacting one of our site sponsors; scottyb - Carts Unlimited and TahoeDawg71 - Revolution Golf Cars to get you the exact item(s) you need along with the best technical support you can get.

Yep it sure is a stock Regen 2 controller. If it was fully converted from Regen 1, it should have a run/tow switch in the harness. AND (if converted completely) the pie shaped multi-step potentiometer instead of the CVP under the floorboards (not that it makes any difference). But I don't see the multi-step in the photos.

BTW - Has anyone seen/done a conversion of Regen 2 to the XCT-48300-PD+?

I've just tried to find one on the internet, and have had no luck. They are listed on Alltrax web site, but that's all I've found.

In my memory bank I seem to recall more than a year ago (XCT was very new) that Scotty attempted to install one in a Regen 2/multi-step with very "mixed results"; and that he was communicating with Alltrax to work out the wrinkles. But I don't recall ever hearing what happened to those wrinkles.

So that would explain why the controller smoked, There are a ton of wires from the harness that have been cut, moved, spiced, ect. How much work am i looking at to put back together? Basically i am getting the cart as is, but come with 6 brand new Trojans, Brand new roof, windshiled, LED light kit, and more. Cart is already lifted. I said i would give $1000 for it, which i know he has more than double that in parts. Soooo.....try to fix or walk away??
