Default I need help on a C54 conversion

Could someone help me on a conversion please? I have an 85" CC that I'm doing the C54 conversion kit on but I need more help that just being told to look at the schematic's. If someone would be willing to actually "talk" to me on the phone for a few minutes I would really appreciate it.

I am unsure of myself, I am not a mechanic and I'm obviously having trouble with the directions and schematics. To top it off I'm in an extremely remote location so finding local help is not possible.

Thank you in advance,
Denny

Hi Denny, what is it specifically that you are having trouble with? Mounting the physical components, or wiring, or both? These kits are extremely well designed and have a great track record here at BGW. They are designed for anyone with basic tools to be able to install.

Good morning and thank you for the replies. As has been pointed out, I am in over my head.... but unfortunately, it's too late to turn back. My cart has been stripped down and the components mounted but schematic diagrams are Greek to me. I just learned that not all of the directions or schematics included apply to my kit (C54) so maybe this will help.

This would be a great time to find a YouTube video or tutorial if someone knows of one.

Hi Denny,
Sorry I can't answer your questions but I wan' to comment on your location. When you say extremely remote, I understand. I 🦌 deer hunted Beaver Island for many years about 40+ years ago. Extremely remote describes it well. Good luck on fixing your problem.

Denny,

C54 so your doing Scott's upgrade, He is a vendor here with thousands of posts helping us out, I too did a C54 on my cart and Scott helped me thru it.

Can you give us a list of all the parts you purchased ?

Do you have the additional wiring and ends to connect the lights/horn/solenoid etc ?

Pics ? We strive on lots of pics :)

Oh and make a few copies of that schematic before we mark it up.... aka keep a fresh one...

Hi Bob,
Hunting season is still a big event up here, helps the local economy a lot. Our gas prices are still probably the highest in the nation bouncing between $4 and $5/gallon which is a reason I chose to go electric way back when.

Hi Mike,
Shortly I am going to load everything up and take it to the airport.... one of the pilots is also a mechanic and offered to give me a hand when I explained the situation. Long story short I am hoping he will be able to help me, at 67 y/o I have enough problems as it is, but if my project stumps this guy....I'll be back!

A few years ago I restored a 49 Ford 8N and was feeling pretty confident but if you think about it, there wasn't a lot of electrical work to do on it. Of course there was a large group of people that helped me plus almost everything was covered with either pictures or YouTube videos and the vendors were extremely helpful.

Anyway, I need to get this thing on a trailer and to the other end of the island yet this morning. Live and learn

We did not have much time today so only made a small amount of headway before having to quit but I now have another problem. While trying to remove the nut on the charger fuse it twisted the the end holding the fuse and broke the wire.
1. Do I need to replace the whole assembly or do they sell just the 2 studs holding the fuse?
2. Also, if I am going from a 36V system to 48V do I need a larger fuse?
3. Would an auto parts store have these (Car Quest or Auto Value) or is it a specialized item that I need to order?

1. Do I need to replace the whole assembly or do they sell just the 2 studs holding the fuse? Yes 48v fuse assembly http://www.ebay.com/itm/Club-Car-Pow...NTNJZr&vxp=mtr and Whole receptacle http://www.ebay.com/itm/DS-48V-DC-Re...5ZVL0h&vxp=mtr
2. Also, if I am going from a 36V system to 48V do I need a larger fuse? It is a heavier fuse.
3. Would an auto parts store have these (Car Quest or Auto Value) or is it a specialized item that I need to order? I do not believe so
See points above. Check the site sponsors as they may have them too.
