Default How do old batteries effect perfomrance

I am trying to decide if I need new batteries in my CC. I have noticed that they take and hold a charge fine but it seems to have less power especially when going up hill. I have a 2-3 degree slope and it can barely get up it meaning it slows to a crawl. Seems fine on the flats but the hills kill it.
So do you all think this is likely the batteries or something else?

Attach a voltmeter to the pack and place it on the seat. Watch the meter as you crawl up the steepest hill..... and tell us what the pack voltage drops to.

^^^^this . Some batteries can take and hold a charge but as time goes they can't take the load.

Like Toby Keith once said. "I'm not as good as I once was but I'm as good once as I ever was." Kind of like that anyways

Loss of distance and what you are experiencing is usually the first thing you will see start to happen with older batteries.

How old are your batteries? And brand?
