Powerdrive 3 Cycles On & Off
Have a 2010 Precedent. 2 year old batteries.
When I plug charger into cart, it starts humming, but does not go into diagnostic, then during the course of changing it will stop humming for a few seconds and then start again. It seems like this happening 5 or 6 times during the course of charging. After charger shuts off at end of cycle, I can unplug and replug and it will charge for 25 or 30 minutes and shut off. The batteries at the end of charge is barely 50 volts. When I unplug AC, I don't get battery warning light. When I replug AC should it start charging? What should I be looking for? |

Re: Powerdrive 3 Cycles On & Off
It sounds like the OBC is going out and has lost part of its communication to the charger. It should not cut off before at least 53.8 volts. Bypass the OBC real quick and then plug it back in and see if the charger works correctly (not shutting off or humming on and off)/ If so, replace the OBC or completely bypass/remove and upgrade to a DPI accusense.

Re: Powerdrive 3 Cycles On & Off
I have a DPI for my series DS.
I thinking of swapping chargers. Undo bypass on DS and use precedent charger, bypass obc on on precedent and use DPI. Will a powerdrive 3 work on a series DS? |

Re: Powerdrive 3 Cycles On & Off
Absolutely. As long as it has an OBC system. And even better if you have a newer version OBC on that cart that takes advantage of its capabilities.
