Grounding a 12 Volt Fuse Block
I have searched threads and looked at many diagrams and the answer to my question may be hidden in plain site, so I apologize for my old eyes.
Question: The fuse block I'm installing has an integral ground buss. Do I need to run a ground wire from the (-) buss on the fuse block directly to the B- on my controller? The reducer I'm installing has a ground wire on the 48 volt side that I'm connecting to the B- on the controller so I'm thinking the (-) on the 12 volt output side would go to the ground buzz on the fuse block and be grounded through the reducer to the B- so the OBC can account for the 12 volt draw. |

Re: Grounding a 12 Volt Fuse Block
does your reducer have a 12v neg out put ?
if it does you hook it up to the buss bar and the reducer 48v neg to the b neg of the controller |

Now I have to determine the wire gauge size for the (+) 12 volt lead to the fuse block. The idiots provided a deutsch connection where on the reducer (receptor)side of the duetsch they provided ~12ga. wire (good!) but on the plug side of the deutsch they downsized to 16 ga. (not good!). BTW: 30 amp reducer. Thanks for the help! |

Re: Grounding a 12 Volt Fuse Block
That's exactly how I'm planning to wire it. For the 12 volt cart lighting 16 ga. wire will be fine however, I'm installing a 12 volt accessory outlet so that lime green wire in your diagram will grow to a 12ga. for piece of mind.

Re: Grounding a 12 Volt Fuse Block
Yep, I agree on the 48 volt side but to reduce wire size to less than 1/2 on the 12 volt side at the in-line deutsch doesn't make any logical sense. They live amongst us!

Re: Grounding a 12 Volt Fuse Block
This might be a dumb question but the negative bullet connector that comes standard near battery 1 in the club car sequence, connects to the negative ground on the controller correct?
