Default wire hot

I had a battery terminal melt the other day.
I fixed it by drilling and tapping the battery and installing a stud.
the cable for the post that melted was repaired with new terminals and all battery wiring is 4 gauge.
all of the cables were removed and the terminals and battery posts were cleaned with a wire brush.
I have noticed that the wire from the battery to the solenoid is getting warm.
is this normal?
I do a lot of steep hill climbing and other than aggressive 18" tires the cart is all stock.
I am putting pretty hi loads on the drivetrain but it still creeps up steep hill.

Throw you an Alltrax XCT controller in there and get some more torque. If that is not enough, you can get a high-torque motor like the Admiral MOT-A4 from our site sponsors like scottyb - Carts Unlimited and Dave Hicks - Revolution Golf Cars.
