Default Micro switch keeps popping

So I am working on a 98 48v club car ds series cart and am having an issue leading into the first limit switch on the f&r switch. It's the one with the white/black and the green/white wires going into it. I have replaced the potentiometer and have popped at least 4 of these switches so far

Hello RDub. Welcome to BGW.
Look in the "stickies" and find the correct wiring diagram for your cart. Make sure you have things wired correctly.

Was the cart running before you switched out the potentiometer?

I think a lot of our experts are battling a hurricane right now. I'll help as much as I can.

I've done that already. I rewired the entire cart trying to solve this issue only to have it run just fine and then the switch blows with in a minute or to of it running.

Yes cart was running before I replaced the potentiometer but it was blowing the switch. I took the potentiometer apart and replaced the wires in it thinking maybe one of those was the problem. Switch blew again after I got it all put back together. So then I thought it might be one of the diodes in the potentiometer was the issue so I replaced the potentiometer all together only to blow the switch again

Did you rewire the solenoid?

Yes I did. Literally every wire on the cart has been replaced

Make sure the diode across the small terminals is not backward. If you are not sure about this, take it out completely for the time being.

Checked that already too. Tested the diode discovered it was bad so I replaced. It's on there with the strip towards the positive side

It is so easy to put that in backward I usually leave it out under these circumstances until all has been figured out.

Will not affect operation of the cart.

Thank you for your input. Do you think there is anyway it is the solenoid causing this? Also what would it do if I just bypassed the switch all together
