Ausco brakes vs jakes brakes???
I want to upgrade the brakes on my CC DS just looking for pro's and con's on both I'm leaning to Ausco brakes but heard they are loud and squeak? All input would be great the stupid drum brakes I messed up and are hard ever since I did the flip.

Re: Ausco brakes vs jakes brakes???
IMHO, it depends on what you use your cart for AND what is the top end speed of your cart?
I use mine for hunting in SW Pa. and because of the hills and mountains here, I have Jakes disc on the front, and factory drums on the back. As a former motocross guy I know the front brakes will provide more stopping than rear alone. So, prior to my front disc install going down some dirt and or mud hills was....well, a real eye opener. Now I can stop in the middle of those hills. If your going street the Ausco's will likely work fine. They, according to post here, have much greater stopping power than the drums. Plus, if you live in a flat area, you will likely love 'em. (rear install only) Do a search as the "squeak" that you heard of has been fixed by those who have posted this issue on this forum. Those riders seem very happy with Ausco's. FWIW |

Re: Ausco brakes vs jakes brakes???
I've been working on a 4 wheel disc brake conversion. I've been warned to stay away from Ausco Brakes if I ride off road cause the mix of dirt and debris wears the pads out very quickly and there 50.00 a set to replace.
