Default Fold-down glass windshield for CC DS

Anyone make a folding glass windshield for CC DS?

Want something stronger and with better mounts for trailering. Want durability of glass.

I don't think you'll find a glass one ready made. Impact modified polycarbonate ones that are street legal would be the best bet.

However, I'm sure any auto glass dealer can make one for you. It might be cheaper to buy a closed trailer though!

Your cart's roof puts all manner of strain on the roof supports while traveling down the road (or, a bumpy trail) leading to substantial twisting and shaking. A flexible mount system is desirable. Better solution is to remove the plastic windshield for transport, wrap it in a blanket, and place it in the tow vehicle, ON TOP OF everything else so it wont get damaged.

I tow my cart with fold down windshield on open trailer at 70+ without any problems.

On edit, I do have a piece on aluminum angle across the windshield fold area from roof support on each side.

I carried mine home in the ute at pretty much a constant 115 km/hr (71mph) for 700 km (435 miles) with the windscreen folded and zip tied. There were no problems at all except for the number of squashed bugs.

Bruce, that is an "awkward" looking ride.... No disprespect intended. And I am referring to the ute, not the Club Car!

That must be the land down under's version of an Elcamino...

I think you have that backwards, LOL!

From the Wiki:

Australia, South Africa and Middle East

General Motors-Holden's manufactured and marketed coupé utility models in Australia commencing in 1935. GMH continued to offer a Chevrolet coupé utility until 1952. Rebadged Holden coupé utilities, including later Commodore-based models, were sold as the Chevrolet El Camino and Chevrolet Lumina in South Africa and the Middle East. Holden produced a Commodore-based coupé utility in Australia as the Holden Ute until 2017, when Holden's Elizabeth factory closed down.

Give the guy some credit, that ute had a way more useful bed than a lot of the fullsize pickups here with their "grocery basket" 5 to 6' beds.

I give Bruce all the credit in the South. He's a terrific guy even if he doesn't use the same words as us southern boys....
