Question series, regen, what to do

To late in the game I have come to find out that for my usage (mostly for hunting over rough terain) I need plenty of torque. So I am now considering my next buggy (shhhhh don't tell the wife) As recomended here and by a couple motor manuf/rebuilders I have spoken to, series would be best. The companies that build the 4x4 electric carts, Stealth, Badboy, and a couple others all use series. Well I stumbled across a new one the other day that seems to be a real good buggy (not a reman CC or EZgo) it even has independent rear suspension, anyway it has shunt wound motors.

These guys have gone to quite a bit of work and I'm sure r&d to not know what their doing by putting the improper motor in. for the past 2wks I've tried emailing and calling the company but no one seems to be home

Here's the specs
Drive Train
2 - Advance DC motors
2 - Curtis 1244 Controllers
8 - Trojan 6 volt batteries (48V system)
Delta-Q on board charger
2 wheel drive / switchable 4 wheel drive on the fly
Suspension / Braking
Front Suspension Independent
Rear Suspension Independent
Brakes 4 wheel hydraulic disc brakes

So what's your take on this system? http://www.titanutv.com/

web sites song is a pretty cool tune

not familiar with the set-up, but from doing a couple of quick searches and looking at what is out and the battery set-up it looks to me like there are two 24 volt motors in that cart, and there are 4 batteries for each motor.

i am not sure what kind of torque a 24 volt system can produce, but it looks like the controller can produce some good amps (i think it was a 400-700 amp controller), but only being 24 volt i am not sure what it will do.

maybe someone else will come along with some good knowledge.

I could be wrong but I think both motors are 48v and run off the whole bank, 48v

Ruff and Tuff... STAY AWAY.. nothing is standard... cars have serious battery problems.... brake systems rust out within one year. I sold about 5 of them, wish I hadn't.

We had discussed the Titan UTV on the Stealth 4x4 thread a few days ago. How much are they asking for the Titan's at the dealership? I was just curious.

I talked to a cart dealer a couple months ago and he had one of the Ruff N Tuff's in his shop. I asked about the cart and he said it was a piece of junk. (His exact words). He said that they are always bringing them to him to work on (he does not sell them) and it takes for ever to get replacement parts for them. He told me to stay way away from it. Works for me!
