Carryall Rear Shock Options?
Hey Guys,
I have a 2001 Turf 2 Carryall (Electric) that I am hunting rear shocks for. I see the factory shocks are listed as discontinued. Are regular DS rear shocks the same dimensions? Would like some heavy duty shocks as I am sure the Carryalls are sprung more stiffly then the DS's. Thanks! |

Re: Carryall Rear Shock Options?
Since it is the same frame I would think so.
Remember, golf cart shocks are different then automotive shocks, they are more like snubbers. Your suspension pretty much dictates the ride. |

Re: Carryall Rear Shock Options?
Both Gabriel and Monroe offer shock configuration charts to aid in matching up shocks by mounting type plus extended and compressed lengths. When you move to an automotive shock it is highly likely they will be gas charged. That helps keep the fluids inside the shock doing what they should do.
If your configuration offers more than one shock "grade", choose the lightest cheapest version. Just about any auto shock will be heavy duty compared to a GC shock due to the weight difference. The standard type shock grade will work best for a golf cart. You definitely don't want a shock as big around as your fist. LOL |
