Default 400 Amp Controller on 91 DS?

Needing more power for rear seat weight and hills. Does anyone have a good write up on installing a new (maybe 400 amp) controller on a pre-2000 DS?

The other guys on this forum are much better at this than I am (just a rookie) but I think you'll need more than just a controller if you've not gone solid state already. Heavy duty F/R switch and solenoid plus bigger cables. I just ordered my upgrade from ScottyB. Check back with me in a month or so and I'll let you know how the upgrade went. In the meantime, take a look at this post by ScottyB. He's a genius with electric carts.

Oh, by the way. from what I've read here, only buy an Alltrax and get the 500 instead of the 400. You may have to add a fan to the 400 at $50 cost. The 500 comes with the fan and is only $100 more.

I don't think I did a write up, but I upgraded a 93' cart for what you are looking at doing. I ordered everything from Scotty, which went great. I have a 700 amp FSIP controller. But it is a lifted hunting cart, so went with the biggest I could get. I eventually needed a new motor too, but that came a year or two later. It's not a difficult wiring deal. I do recommend the larger cables and heavy duty f and r switch.
