wiring a voltage reducer
my memory failed me.
on a club car DS voltage reducer that mounts on the inside frame rail behind the battery box. The reducer has 2 wires 1 went to the controller the other went to a fuse block. I cant remember where it hooks up? |

I just installed one on my DS, the 48 volt input wires connect to pack (+) and controller (B-). Mine has a trigger wire that connected to the cold side of the key switch. The 12 volt (+ & -) wires went to a fuse block with ground buss.

If you have a 2 wire reducer without a trigger wire and you hook it directly to Pack + and controller (B-) it will be drawing power permanently. You should either connect in a separate switch so that you can control it manually or get your +ve from a connection that only has power when the key switch is on.

If it is the 16 to 12 v reducer installed by cc from the factory, one end connects to B- on the controller..The other end connects to the negative to whatever 12v accessory you want too..Pick up the positive from #5 battery to the accessory..
