V-glide vs MCOR4
Swapping in a new motor and controller and decided to go through the whole cart to check for necessary adjustments or repairs. In this 1999 CC DS, I have a v glide and I popped the cover off and see that the terminals are wearing on the bottom half but not contacting the tops. I don't currently have throttle issues but I wonder if this could lead to performance issues. I noticed there is an adjustment screw on the swiper terminal that adjusts the pitch or camber (don't know correct terminology) of the swiper. I thought I'd adjust it to create a more positive contact for the swiper. Then I began to wonder if an MCOR conversion is beneficial? Is MCOR better than the v glide? Just wondering if I should convert to MCOR or just adjust the v glide and rock on... opinions?

Re: V-glide vs MCOR4
I'm definitely not going to say the MCOR4 is "better" than the V-glide. The V-glide is one of the most dependable potentiometers they ever used, but the MCOR4 is definitely a lot smoother operating and much easier to access once you've converted the car over.

Re: V-glide vs MCOR4
You used a word that I like... dependable. That said, I may just try to adjust the v-glide and run it as long as it continues to work. It seems to be smooth enough for my needs. If it bites the dust then I'll look into the conversion when the time comes. Thanks.

If the V-glide is performing well for you in terms of smooth operation and throttle response, I would not upgrade to the MCOR4 kit [AM293201- available from Revolution Golf Cars] at this time. I replaced mine in the same year cart as yours and I am not sorry that I did. Last edited by Tom47; 11-17-2017 at 08:16 AM.. Reason: Add Info |

Re: V-glide vs MCOR4
When I barely touch the gas pedal the cart gets jumps and hesitates. Is that a sign the VGlide is starting to go?
