36 to 48 volt conversion
this has been the easiest and most effective upgrade i have seen... wait till your 36 volt cart needs new batts the just put 8 volts in replace your soleniod with a 48 and trade your 36 volt charger for a 48 volt lester... done..., 21 mph with alot of pull.. i mean alot of pull

Just a few notes of caution:
1. Make sure your electronic controller can handle 48V if you have that type. 2. Resistor carts are fine unless a modified motor draws more amps than the resistors can handle. 3. The power of higher voltage is addicting so once you raise the voltage there is no going back! |

I am cool has likely long since melted his 36v resistor coil cart..... His post is 5 yrs old.
You can do this to your 93 CC but, a word of caution. You can not do this to a resistor coil or 5 solenoid drive cart. You can only do this with a solid state drive system. Resistor coil carts can be converted and upgraded. Which one do you have? |

I have the single solenoid resistor coil setup. Just bought brand new 6v batteries! Take them back, get 8v, replace solenoid and I'm good?

Ok so now I'm lost. In the beginning of this thread the guy said what to get and he has the same cart as mine. All it involved was the solenoid, batteries and a charger. Several other threads have said the same things generally. Most say my f/r switch is plenty stout enough for 48 volts and never mention a potentiometer. So which is it?

Notice the date on this thread is 2006. The guy never came back and told how long the cart ran but I have done what he did and the results were not immediate but they were catastrophic.
